Tennessee coach Butch Jones announced running back John Kelly and linebacker Will Ignont have been suspended for Saturday’s game against Kentucky after a traffic stop that resulted in their being charged with marijuana possession.

Knoxville Police public information officer Darrell DeBusk told ESPN’s Mark Schlabach officers stopped Kelly’s car at 10:46 p.m. ET Tuesday. They searched the car and found a substance believed to be marijuana and a pipe.

Paris Ford and Tyler Sear, freshmen on the Pitt football team, face charges stemming from an Oct. 17 fight the two had, in a Pitt dorm room, according to a University of Pittsburgh police report filed Wednesday.

Montana State safety Justin Strong arrested on assault suspicion (The Fulmer Cup Offseason)

The Fulmer Cup Justin StrongMontana State Grizzlies senior safety Justin Strong was arrested for allegedly beating a Washington State student in Pullman, Washington, Saturday. KHQ-TV, a Spokane NBC affiliate, broke the news.

The report said Strong told police the victim assaulted him at a house party, and he hit the victim twice, once knocking him to the ground and a second time when the victim tried to get up. The victim suffered a fractured skull and was flown from Pullman to Spokane for treatment.

Cajuns linebacker Ferrod Gardner dismissed after felony arrest (The Fulmer Cup Offseason)

Ferrod Gardner The Fulmer CupJONESBORO, Ark. — Juco-transfer linebacker Ferrod Gardner, arrested late last week, has been dismissed from the UL football team for “violation of team rules,” a Ragin’ Cajuns spokesman said Thursday morning.

Gardner was slated to start at the Will inside linebacker position, but he never played a game for the Cajuns after undergoing season-ending surgery to repair a foot injured early in preseason camp.

Gardner was arrested last Friday for felony identity theft, a Lafayette Police Department spokesman confirmed Thursday afternoon.

Texas A&M freshman defensive lineman Ondario Robinson was arrested on Monday on a misdemeanor theft charge.

Robinson, a reserve from Hutto, was booked by university police on Monday for alleged theft of a “bait bike” worth $350, according to Brazos County records. Robinson was released Monday after he posted a $2,000 bond.

Two UND football players face drug charges (The Fulmer Cup Offseason)

UND The Fulmer CupTwo UND football players were charged Thursday with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

The charges for Andre Randolph and Demon Taylor are Class B felonies and carry a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.

The Fulmer Cup Scottie YoungArizona Freshman safety Scottie Young Jr. was arrested by campus police on suspicion of one count of domestic violence assault shortly after midnight Wednesday after a student in the Likins Residence Hall reported that she’d seen another student get “pushed into a wall, spit on and threatened by (Young)”, according a campus police incident report.

UGA linebacker won’t play vs. Vandy after arrest on marijuana charge (The Fulmer Cup Offseason)

As expected, Georgia inside linebacker Natrez Patrick is being held out of Saturday’s game at Vanderbilt following his arrest for marijuana possession late Thursday night.

UGA’s student-athlete handbook calls for an immediate suspension for a marijuana arrest. This was Patrick’s second marijuana arrest, following one his freshman year in 2015, and a second violation calls for a four-game suspension.
