Texas Tech running back Da’Leon Ward, who’s been expected to regain a prominent role in the Red Raiders’ offense after a year off, was booked into Lubbock County Jail around mid-afternoon Tuesday.Ward is charged with theft of between $2,500 and $30,000, a state jail felony. The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office was the arresting agency listed on Ward’s booking sheet. A Tech spokesman said he was unaware of Ward’s arrest before A-J Media broke the news, and Tech is gathering information.
